Reading Relay Privacy Policy

Introduction

Reading Relay (“the App”) is developed by Life Orchestrator. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the App.

Reading Relay is designed with privacy as a top priority. Everything you track is entered by you, by hand, and stays on your device.

Data Collection

Local-first architecture

Reading Relay is designed with a local-first approach. By default, all of your data is stored exclusively on your device. That includes:

Books: title, author, page counts, and reading status
Reading sessions: pages read, minutes, and session notes
Quotes and notes you save from books
Reading goals and app preferences

This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to connect to Life Orchestrator.

Manual entry only

Reading Relay does not look up books online. There is no ISBN scanning, no external book database, and no network request made when you add a book. Every title, author, and page count is entered manually by you.

Data we do not collect

We do not collect personal identification information
We do not track your location
We do not access your contacts, photos, or other apps
We do not collect analytics or usage data without consent
We do not connect to external book databases or catalogs

Life Orchestrator integration (optional)

If you choose to connect Reading Relay to Life Orchestrator:

Your reading data is synced to Life Orchestrator’s secure servers
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest
Your quotes and notes become part of your searchable knowledge base
Shared data is then governed by Life Orchestrator’s privacy policy
You keep full control and can disconnect at any time

Third parties

We do not sell, trade, or share your data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. Your data is never shared unless one of the following applies:

You explicitly enable Life Orchestrator sync
You choose to export and share your own data
Disclosure is required by law
Disclosure is necessary to protect our rights or safety

Data Deletion

How to delete your data

You can delete your data at any time:

Delete individual quotes: open a book and tap the remove icon next to any quote
Remove books from your shelf: mark a book as Abandoned from the Library or the book detail screen
Delete synced data: if connected to Life Orchestrator, go to Settings, then Life Orchestrator, then Disconnect and Delete Data

When you delete data locally, it is permanently removed from your device. If the data has been synced to Life Orchestrator, you must also delete it from your Life Orchestrator account.

Uninstalling the App

Uninstalling the App deletes all locally stored data. Synced data held in Life Orchestrator must be deleted separately.

Data Security

All data is stored using secure device storage with encryption
Synced data uses TLS 1.3 encryption in transit
Life Orchestrator uses AES-256 encryption at rest
We implement industry-standard security practices

Children’s Privacy

Reading Relay is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you are under 18, please use this app only with parental guidance.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy in the App and updating the date at the top of this page.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

Access your personal data
Correct inaccurate data
Delete your data
Export your data
Opt out of data processing
Request data portability
